Lasting 12 months, the course will include the participation of Master Watchmaker António Roca and guarantees the issuance of a certificate of participation at the end.

The objective is to offer training in watchmaking with hours compatible with family and professional life. To facilitate unrestricted learning, all registered participants will receive, at the beginning of the course, a kit with professional tools selected by the trainers themselves.

It is important to highlight that prior training is not required to be a great enthusiast. What really matters is your interest in watchmaking and your desire to learn.

Registration

The first step is to click on “reserve plaza”. Every time a new group opens, the people on the waiting list are contacted by order of registration to formalize their place and present the annual course schedule. If you are interested in the watchmaking course, we recommend signing up for the waiting list as soon as possible.


Recipients

Young people and adults without prior experience required.


Objectives

The course aims to transmit theoretical and practical watchmaking knowledge to collectors and enthusiasts. At the end, participants will be able to maintain a simple mechanical watch for personal use and understand how it works. Furthermore, you will acquire practical knowledge about pendulum clocks, quartz clocks and clocks with some complications.

12 months:

  • 24 theoretical sessions of 6 hours each

  • Total: 144 hours


Time

Fortnightly, Saturdays from 10:00 to 17:30, with lunch from 13:00 to 14:30.

  • Manufacture of generic professional tools

  • Manufacture of specialized professional tools

  • Pendulum mechanical clocks

  • Automatic mechanical watches with bracelet I, II and III

  • Oscillator: assembly and repair of spirals

  • Personal use watch design

  • Mechanical watches with complications

  • Mechanical counters and chronographs

  • Analog electronic watches

  • Mechanical watches

  • Functional analysis of mechanical watches

  • Functional analysis of personal use watches

  • Distributor organ or exhaust

  • Flywheel-Spiral Oscillator

  • Personal use watch design

  • Chronographs and counters

  • Electronic watches

  • Functional analysis of leather watches


Security

All participants will be covered by personal accident insurance.

Certificate issued by IPR — Instituto Portugués de Relojería


Costs

  • Single registration: €385

  • Monthly: €325 x 12 months
