MISSION

We organize knowledge about the practice of watchmaking.

We teach watchmaking. We want to train our professionals, as well as those passionate about watchmaking, so that it is possible to create a Portuguese watchmaking identity.

We founded the Portuguese Institute of Watchmaking to follow this path. We do not feel extremely urgent in our plans, but we are aware that the number of watchmakers and master watchmakers is rapidly decreasing, and with it their knowledge.

We chose to create an Institute to reinforce the idea of education and the organization of knowledge, which is what institutes do. We hope that it will be established over time and will last for many generations.
