He is the Director of the Professional Watchmaking Technician Course at Casa Pia in Lisbon and has been a teacher at the institution since 1988. He graduated in watchmaking at the Casa Pia School in Lisbon, and his main teachers and mentors were Américo Henriques and Vitor Lopes.

He has a degree and postgraduate degree in Electronic Engineering and has attended several specialist watchmaking courses in Switzerland, namely with Rolex, Longines, Omega, Rado and ETA. He has given over 30,000 hours of training to students on the Instrumentation and Watchmaking courses at Casa Pia in Lisbon.

He has written several specialist articles for watchmaking magazines in Portugal and Spain.
